This temple is located at the tail end of Govardhan Hill. Govardhan hill is considered as a peacock with Punchari as its tail. Lautha baba is believed to be one of the Gopa friends of Lord Krishna. On the day when Krishna and Balram were leaving for Mathura on Akrura’s Chariot he had cooked a nice meal for them. When the chariot passed by his place, he invited Krishna and Balram to have a meal with him. But Krishna replied: “I am just coming” promising him that he will return the very next day and then will have a meal at his (Lautha baba’s) place. Since then, Lautha baba is sitting at this place facing the road and waiting for the return of Krishna and Balram. Since that day Lautha baba has not eaten anything in the desire that, one day Krishna and Balram would return to have a meal with him. The presiding deity of the temple resembles that of the deity of Hanumanji.
