This temple is located near Radha Kund. The presiding deity of the temple is the Govardhan Shila (rock) which is believed to be the Jihva (the tongue) of the Govardhan hill. It was established and worshipped by Sri Raghunath das Goswami. During the excavation of gopi Kupa, the workman’s tool struck the rock inside the well and the rock began to bleed. On seeing this workmen were horrified and informed Sri Raghunath Das Goswami regarding the incident. He ordered to stop the work. That night lord Giriraj came to the dream of Raghunath Das and told him that the rock which was found during excavation in well is his tongue. He told him to establish it in a temple and worship it with the water from Radha Kund.
